That’s a nice piece. You even managed to avoid describing him as “from Turkey” (Turkey not existing until a millennium after his martyrdom) until almost the end. Two cheers 😁

Of course! Although it has to be said that England was a great deal more English (or Anglisc, if you prefer) before its unification than Anatolia was before the Turks stopped rampaging around the Caucasian Steppes & settled down there. Even the Ottomans didn’t call the country Turkey, or themselves Turkish, and that was a millennium later.

I meant what I said about it being a good piece as well, you know!

Of course! However, it’s sometimes more convenient to refer to places by the name of their modern location, so that readers who aren’t as well informed as you understand where I’m referring to :)
